Cantor Darnov was incredibly responsive and customer oriented. I asked her to make a custom tallit for my 2 boys so they would have a matching one to mine. 30 years later, she created exactly what i wanted, i wool replica of the tallit. I couldn’t be happier with the communication, craftsmanship and final product. I highly recommend her if you are looking for something special and unique.Adam F.
I recently purchased a second hand-woven tallit from Avima at The Tallit Corner. I had initially purchased a tallit five years ago for my older son and was so happy with the result that I went back to The Tallit Corner when my younger son was becoming a Bar Mitzvah. Avima worked with my sons to help them choose the colors and designs they preferred. She truly understands that the designs on a tallit should not be overstated, but enhance the beauty of the hand-woven garment. Avima uses the finest yarns, ours were woven in zephyr (conbination of wool/silk) , providing comfort and a soft feel. Her finishing touches should also be commended – the edges of the tallitot were all hemmed, the atara was lovely, and the matching bag was perfect. If you are looking for a tallit that is truly special, I highly recommend The Tallit Corner.Amy & Neil W.
Avima went to extraordinary lengths to weave the most beautiful, softest tallit we have ever seen or felt. It was early August and this was a wedding present for our son who was getting married at the end of September. She patiently and promptly answered my unending questions about size and color and material and managed not only to interpret what we ourselves weren’t sure we wanted, but also made sure we received it the day of erev Yom Kippur. So we sat down in shul that evening and the woman who sat behind us just happened to be a knitter and upon seeing the beautiful tallit draped across my son’s back immediately asked, “Where, oh where, did you get that?!? May I touch it?” She was simply enthralled, but no less so than us.Gail M.
